We have embraced cloud accounting and bookkeeping systems since 2013. Stephen Edwards the director of Cheltenham Tax Accountants has a passion for new ‘tech’. However, we do not take it lightly when recommending a new app or software for your business. Xero in our opinion (and most accountants) is the best online bookkeeping software around.

What about Quickbooks online?

We think QuickBooks is a fantastic product. It is officially our second option when recommending bookkeeping software. We are more than happy to work with small business owners that use Quickbooks or any of the other reputable providers such as Freeagent, Kashflow and Sage Cloud / Online etc. If we do your bookkeeping for you then it will be on Xero as we can provide specialist expertise and time and efficiency savings from using one preferred system in-house.

Can you recommend which Xero package I will need?

There are three main official public subscriptions offered by Xero. We are. more than happy to advise which version is most suitable for you and your business. As accountants, we also have access to a wider choice of packages that can be very cost-effective.

Does Xero have a receipt scanning app like Quickbooks?

There are a selection of options with ‘receipt scanning software’. To cut a long story short we prefer Receipt Bank which is a separate system, but the best at what it does. It will completely streamline your bookkeeping system. Say goodbye to paperwork!
